A Cake Boss Phillies Weekend

We had a fun family weekend this past weekend.  Two special events fell on this one weekend so in addition to our normal fun we added in two very late nights packed full of fun.

On Friday night we went to see Cake Boss from TLC who was doing a show in Denver.  We had no idea what to expect but we did know that seeing Cake Boss would be a highlight for Symeon and Marin as well.  Symeon has been a Cake Boss fan since he was 2  years old.  Sometimes when he had a hard time sleeping and he would be up late with me we would watch an episode of Cake Boss.  Well then he started wanting to watch it during his wake hours instead of any other show which struck me as funny but since we enjoyed it together why not?  He has been a fan for 2 years or so and this last birthday he wanted a Cake Boss party which was so much fun.  So when he came to Denver and your Dad is a ticket broker all signs point to yes.

As usual Shawn spoiled us all with front row tickets and we took along the world's best babysitter who watches the kids and happens to love Cake Boss.  We all had dinner downtown then headed to the show and to be honest we were pleasantly surprised because although we thought we would like the show we were a bit worried the kids would not last but we were wrong they both loved it and although Babes fell asleep during the last 1/4 of the show she did great.  The show was funny, interactive, and lots of fun for us all especially the meet and greet after the show!

I love Babes as you can tell she cracks me up

Me and my little Cake Boss

Symeon loves to sign the receipt every time we eat out so Shawn lets him sign the extra copy and this is what he does, fills in the tip and total then signs his name so funny.

I swear we did go to Cake Boss not the Burlesque Festival

I love this series of pictures trying to get a family shot

Here we are in the front row.  You weren't allowed to use the flash so the pictures are a bit dark.

Cake Boss did competitions with people from the audience and he handed out cupcakes he made on stage.  This the one he handed to Symeon and his face was glowing but we missed the picture.  But here he is holding his cupcake which I might Marin bit off the top part of the frosting not a Cake Boss mistake.

Cake Boss

Here's Marin with the cupcake Cake Boss handed to her later in the show once again we missed the picture.  They did such a good sharing with each other.  Marin was beaming when Cake Boss leaned off stage and handed her a cupcake so sweet!

The show went late and Marin was done she fell asleep during the last 15 minutes and slept until she woke up right before she met Cake Boss.  We did not want to wake her because she does not do well being woke up but since she woke up on her own a little crying began and I gave her a mint to make her smile and it worked.  The picture turned out great.

Buddy was a gentleman and great with the kids he was engaging with them and Symeon and Marin were beaming when he gave them each a high five and chatted with them.  Overall a fun night for us all.

The Phillies

I love the city for so many reasons but one favorite is public transportation.  Here we are at the bus stop 1/2 a block from our house and it dropped us two blocks from the stadium.

Once again Shawn surprised us with front row tickets on the third base line so of course we had some some neat opportunities to see the "stars"

 Chase Utley

Shane Victorino our Nana's favorite player,  he signed the kids hats which was so fun.

Marin holding the baseball they received from the third base coach our second major league baseball

We stopped her right before she threw the ball back.  Ahhh

 Go Phillies!
