California

We just returned from a long weekend in California where we spent time with our good friends Michael and Denise and I participated in graduation ceremonies for my Master's degree from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena. Symeon was did so well traveling such a long distance and we think his body adjusted to the time difference better than ours! Here are some pictures from our trip.

US-Argentina

As many of you know I enjoy watching soccer. This past weekend I had the chance to go to New York and watch the US National team play #1 ranked Argentina. It was a very entertaining game and we had a great time. Before the match I got to shake hands with Drew Carey who is a huge soccer fan.

Dear Friends

We had a wonderful weekend a few weeks ago. My dear friend of 20 years (I know what your thinking I am too young to have a friend for 20 years but it is true.) Lisa came to visit us in PA with her oldest daughter Avery. We had such a great time and for all of you who know us we did get lost going down to see our old youth pastor and his family. Lisa even has a GPS system but since we put in the wrong address it didn't really help us. We had a good laugh about it all, we are always good at finding the humor in all our silly adventures. We are both blessed with easy going kids who seemed to enjoy the ride as much as we did.

Lisa has blessed my life in so many ways and her daughter is so beautiful and loving. Avery loved seeing Symeon and helping in any way she could. Lisa is a beautiful woman, friend, wife and mother. Her grace, beauty, depth of character, patience, calm presence, and love of God contiue to inspire me. Thank you my dear friend for visiting and sharing your lovely, intelligent, thoughtful, well behaved, and beautiful little girl. We are both truly blessed in so many ways.

Avery and Symeon

Avery helping me with Symeon's bath and getting him dressed

Pastor Brian, his wife Rebecca, and their daughter Annaleise. It was wonderful to catch up with them. They are doing well and enjoying their ministry in Maryland. They are just as fun and crazy as ever. It was so good to see them and introduce them to Symeon. It had been to long.

Just Hanging Out

And He's Out. Notice the one sock this is a regular occurrence in our house. Somehow he usually loses a sock during the day. Sometimes we find it and sometimes we don't it just depends on the day.

Symeon and me snuggling

Symeon just got this new chair and it depends on the day whether or not he likes to sit in it. We use his cow to prop him up a bit. He does look pretty cute in it. Don't worry Auntie Traci it is safe.

Relaxing with a good book

What? You didn't think babies could read?

We both love relaxing with a good book! Thanks Hannah for these great books we love them!

Memorial Day

Well we had a wonderful Memorial Day. I had to work but holidays at Paxton are always great fun. We all had a picnic, a competative wiffle ball game, and then Shawn's family stopped by for a visit. Overall a nice day!

Here we are after eating lunch. We have to be so careful because not only does Symeon have my hair he also has my fair complexion. We have years of fights over sunscreen just like my Mom had with me. What is funny is that I got a sunburn this day but Symeon didn't so in some ways I have learned something. Sorry Mom!!
