Oma and Papaw visit

My parents visited for a long weekend and we all had such a great time. Symeon warmed up to them really quickly and it was not long before he was putting on shows and if we are all honest he had them wrapped around his little fingers. Here are a few fun shots of us all having some fun together.

Act one of the Symeon show

Symeon loved my Dad's hat especially taking it on and off his head. Papaw was very patient and accommodating during this process.

Symeon's first birthday gift from Mike, Traci, Austin, Clover. This is a beautiful picture they made for Symeon with all these great pictures of him throughout his first year of life. We hung it in his room and it looks beautiful. Thank you guys so much! Wish you could have been here we missed you!!

We did a lot of driving around while Oma and Papaw were here and Symeon went with the flow. Here he is catching a power nap in the car.

Here's my Dad borrowing the beautiful monkey quilt my Mom made Symeon for his first birthday. The quilt is beautiful and Symeon was so excited when he opened it. Thanks Mom it is beautiful and it means so much to us to have a home made quilt for him.

Out for ice cream

Here's Papaw stealing ice cream from a baby or at least that is what Symeon would have you believe.

Here are Symeon and Papaw finally sharing.

A quick mouth wipe after a much enjoyed ice cream cone.

My parents brought Symeon such wonderful things but while they were here they spoiled him a bit with toys, balls, summer clothes and a flashlight. Symeon would not put his flashlight down he carried it around and we even shut off the lights for awhile which he loved.

Symeon has started giving kisses and here he is giving his new baby a kiss. He is just so sweet!

13 months

I can't believe it has already been a month since Symeon's 1st birthday. He is getting so interactive and baby sign language is wonderful. His ability to communicate keeps him and us from being frustrated. Here are some pictures of our recent adventures.

Enjoying hot pretzels on a nice spring day.

We take Symeon to the YMCA pool and he has so much fun. He loves the water.

Here he is climbing the stairs to go down the kids slide. His first time down he went head first before I could stop him. He went under, came up, laughed, and headed to the stairs for another turn. We made him go feet first for the rest of the time.

Symeon recently found his baby tub in our closet and decided he loves to sit and climb in it. He has had hours of enjoyment from this and it is now sitting in our living room which I am trying to not let bother me since he has such a good time with it. Here he is going head first which seems to be a theme for him. He really has very little fear which has its pros and cons.

Just hanging out in his boat with Mommy's hair product which he loves to carry around.

Getting so big

If we are in the kitchen cooking something Symeon wants to know what is happening. As long as he can see he is fine so today we decided to pull up a chair and let him stand which was easier on both our backs. He just stood there watching and eating his apple it was so sweet.

As you can see he has become a pack rat when it comes to storing food in his cheeks.

Helping Daddy with his breakfast sandwich and Mommy with her crepes.

He stirred and mixed and copied just about everything I did. It was such a great morning together.

Another milestone in a small guys life is his first ice cream cone. Well it was a nice day yesterday and the first nice day usually sends me running to one of my favorite ice cream places. So we did not get Symeon his own cone but he ate off of Shawn's which was quite a treat since he gets little or no sugar hardly ever. He loved it and although we forgot our camera here is what he looked like when he got home.

We found sprinkles stuck to his shirt and of course since there was ice cream on his hands and a dirt play area to say his hands were dirty was an understatment. Here he is trying to figure out what is all over him. I am beginning to realize that for most of the summer Symeon will be very dirty but gosh will he have fun!!! After this experience I put a package of wipes in the car so we are prepared for all his adventures this summer.

8 weeks left

I can't believe it but I only have 8 weeks left until the baby is due. We are still working on names but we are getting closer, I think!? Make your guess do you think we are having a boy or a girl? Some days I am sure it is a girl and some days I am sure we are having a boy so really I have no idea. I am feeling really good and enjoying everyday of my last pregnancy. Symeon has finally started to notice my belly. He lays his head on it, kisses it, and pats it. He is also obsessed with seeing my belly button which is pretty funny.

Visiting Cousins

We had such a nice time visiting Symeon's cousins in Atlanta. Symeon and Sam are only 10 months apart and they were so sweet together. We also met our new niece Maya born in early February and she is so adorable and such an easy going baby. We did find that Symeon was not to keen on me holding Maya so we will see what happens when our new baby comes.

Symeon and Sam in their cute pj's

Beautiful baby Maya

She is just so cute

So Atlanta and I have a love hate relationship. I love visiting Jeff and Katie but the weather never really works out when we are there. Usually it rains and is humid but this time in snowed which is really unusual for Atlanta. It was so bad our flight was cancelled but it was really pretty and lots of fun.

Where one was the other was not far behind. They both love to look at pictures on the computer.

No Fear

Symeon has no fear here he is climbing the stairs to our attic. He would have gone to the top if we would have let him.

Some Friends from Symeon's Party

Some Paxton friends

We had about 25 adults and 8 kids at his party it was such fun.

My friend Amy's little girl Ella she is just so cute and sweet.
