Lots of posts
Scroll down to older posts I posted so much today that there are some others to see. Enjoy.
The story of the balloon
Shawn often goes to Fed Ex to drop off tickets and next door is a hair cutting place that has balloons tied to their sign. Well Symeon loves balloons and the ladies think he is so cute so they often give him one. The other day Symeon went with Shawn and got a balloon from his friends.
We then went out to dinner at a local pizza place where we made a rookie parent mistake and we let Symeon take the ballon into the restaurant. (I am sure you seasoned parents can imagine where this is going.) The balloon was tied to his shorts and when his food came we had to remove it so we attached it to Shawn's chair. Well half way through the meal I looked over and the ballon was gone. I casually looked up to see the balloon stuck on one of the rafters pretty high up. I told Shawn to look up hoping Symeon would not notice but he did and he began pointing saying OOON OOON over and over. We felt so bad for him Shawn finally stood on a chair in the middle of a crowded restaurant to get the balloon. I was laughing so hard and I thought oh what we won't do for our kids. Symeon never threw a fit he just looked so sad we had to help.
If you know Shawn then you also know drawing attention to himself in a crowded restaurant is not high on his list of things to do. He is a great Dad and lesson learned all balloons stay in the car.
So here is a picture of Shawn drinking his beer and holding "his" balloon. It was priceless and I am still laughing as I write this post. Oh I wish you could have all been there.

Bath Time
We often bathe Symeon and Marin together which is fun and a bit easier in some ways. Here are a few fun pictures and since they both love the water bath time is lots of fun for us all.
Symeon loves to talk to his sister and Marin is always eager to give him a smile every time he talks to her.
Marin toweling off
Symeon's hair is long enought to do some fun stuff with it.

Curiosity Connection
Symeon and I had a wonderful Mommy and son day at the state museum kids area. It was such playing make believe in all the different areas. I treasure time I spend with them both together and I love spending time with each of them alone. Symeon is at such a fun age for going to new places.
He loved the marker wall, he is quite the budding Picaso.
He also loved to farm for carrots and cabbage, it was such fun. We must have pulled up these fake carrots and put them back in their holes at least a couple dozen times.
Here he is picking apples off the tree.
Hey did that giant chicken just have a baby boy?!
Here he is making nice with a rubber pig which he thought was awesome.

Waking up is hard to do...
Everyone in our family has quite the wake up process. Shawn and I have always been slow waking up and our children are following suit. It is often half and hour or more from the time you hear them until they are ready to get out of bed. If we go in to early Symeon often will not want to get out of his crib and now he likes to read in bed before facing the world.
This is what I found the other morning when I looked in to get him up for the day. He loves looking out his window and it was so cute to seeing him doing it all by himself.

Cousin Fun
This is from back in June when Jeff, Katie, Sam, and Maya visited PA. I think I missed posting about it so I thought I would put up a few pictures. These are such cute photos of all of them together. It was a short visit but lots of fun. We look forward to having them all grow up together, there is sure to be lots of fun with them all around.
Marin 1 week, Symeon 15 months, Sam 26 months, Maya 4 months
Symeon and Sam are the best of friends. They are so sweet together and they can always make each other laugh.

Summer fun
We took the kids to a state park a few weeks ago. There was a great pool and splash park that was perfect for Symeon. He had so much fun but when he started to turn blue we finally had to make him get out.
Marin at the splash park protected from the sun, she slept most of the time.
Symeon and Mommy in the big pool
Symeon loved the splash park he was nervous for about 2 minutes and then he loved it.
Here he is all blue and we had to make him get out much to his sadness.

It takes a village...
I think it is true that it takes a village to raise a child and I feel blessed that we have such a wonderful village of people around us to help us raise Symeon and Marin. One wonderful couple is Mike and Peggy, they have four grown children of their own and they are a true blessing to our family. Several weekends ago the kids and I went with them to a state park for the morning and we had such a good time.
Lovin on each other
Here are a few pictures of my two sweet babies together which can be kind of difficult to take since Symeon is such a busy little guy.
Budda baby sits peacefully with wild man
Marin, similar to her Mama, wears her true feelings all over her face.
I love that they both smile so easily.
I guess I can tolerate a kiss from this guy
At first this is about as close as Symeon would get to Marin unless he was hitting her in the head when she was crying but thank goodness, for the most part, he is past that stage and now he tries to share everything with her even his milk. Some days I wish he would stay about this far from her because now I find him filling her chair with balls while she is lying in it and the other day I came around the corner and he was touching her eyeball which was gross. He is obsessed with touching his own eyeball right now so I guess he just wanted to see if hers felt the same. The beautiful part is that he will look for her if she is not around, he will want me to share anything I have with her, and he will often kiss her without us telling him to. She also adores him. She follows him wherever he goes in the room and if he even gets close to her she starts smiling and kicking her feet. If she is close enough she will grab at him as much as she can since she still lacks tons of arm control. They are super sweet and I look forward to watching them grow together.
